Job Description

We have teamed up with a fast moving tech for good start-up who are now looking to take on a couple of developers, one being you - a passionate Backend Developer who is experienced in working with Node.js.In just over one year since launching, this group of climate activists have over 4,000 individuals, couples, families, and businesses reducing their carbon footprint through their ground-breaking platform. When 1,000 more jump on board, the joint 5,000 will save 100 football fields worth of arctic sea ice from melting. Have a guess at the impact they could have if they have the same number of subscribers as NetflixFull tech stack:

    • Its a close-knit and inclusive team environment so naturally youll be working closely with everyone in the business but particularly the CTO, building and upgrading the core subscription product as well as upcoming ancillary products and APIs. You will have extensive Node, Typescript, MongoDB and AWS knowledge. Experience with Stripe and serverless will also be favourable. Training and time to get up to speed on any missing skills can be provided, so dont feel like you need all of the above to apply.Day-to-day will include building new product features/APIs, refactor and upgrade existing backend modules, optimising database queries, improving deployment pipelines, managing database migrations, writing fast and effective unit tests, discussing large code and infrastructure decisions & code-reviews.Profit is not the main driver with the start-up - they are more interested in having a positive impact on the climate, openness and transparency. Shear ambition, dedication and an optimistic mentality has taken them this far already and they have no plans to slow down, so if you have the same attitude and feel the same, this could be the job for you.What youll get in return:
