Since then, we’ve won the Gloucestershire Cup 32 times, the Third Division South Cup in 1932,the Watney Cup in 1972 and have been Football League Trophy finalists twice.Through youth development, growing our support base and building a strong relationship between the club and community trust, we aim to be a source of local pride in North Bristol and beyond.We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.The Benefits- Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum- Enhanced holidays- Sick pay- Free parkingThis is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience working in a senior finance role to continue their career track with our ambitious organisation.Your role won’t just be about numbers; itll be about utilising your valuable insights to elevate our financial processes to championship levels.What’s more, you’ll be stepping into a stimulating, sporting environment, fuelled by collaborative working and professional development.So, if you want to become our financial visionary, helping us to redefine the game, then apply today as we attempt to make history in 2023/2024 and the seasons to come!The RoleAs the Financial Controller, you will oversee the accounting functions and processes of our football club.Managing our day-to-day accounting operations, you will ensure that all accounting records are appropriately kept and that every reported result complies with accounting standards and legislation.Co-ordinating and managing the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, you will prepare monthly statements and other regular financial reports.Additionally, you will:- Ensure all transactions are recorded, filed and reported properly- Streamline and improve all operations and accounting systems- Ensure reporting meets compliant standards with statutory law and financial regulations- Co-ordinate the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection- Assist with bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns and reportingAbout YouTo be considered as a Financial Controller, you will need:- A relevant accounting qualification- Experience working in a senior finance role- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures- Familiarity with accounting software, including Sage- Advanced Excel skillsOther organisations may call this role Accountant, Management Accountant, Accounts Senior, Accountancy Team Leader, or Finance Team Leader.Bristol Rovers Football Club is an equal opportunities employer and ensures that staff and volunteers are able to achieve their full potential.
