Job Description

This is excellent opportunity for a Financial Accountant to work in financial reporting and consolidation as part of a small team. Youll be based in north Bristol (hybrid working), £45,000.Client DetailsOur client is a global business and their finance team is based in north Bristol. They are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.DescriptionThe Financial Accountant will be responsible for;

  • Assisting in the group consolidation process under IFRS, posting required journals.
  • Reconciliation of monthly intercompany balances and posting required journals.
  • Preparing the group cashflow statements.
  • Preparing reconciliations for related key balance sheet accounts, e.g., Goodwill, Right of Use Assets and Liabilities, Investments, Intangible Assets and posting associated journals.
  • Reviewing reconciliations for accrued audit fees and accounting fees.
  • Preparing appropriate analysis / commentary, e.g., foreign exchange gains / losses.
  • Other reporting including statistical reporting for some European entities, e.g., preparing Zabil and intercompany/other statistical returns for Austria.
  • Assisting in preparing annual consolidated accounts under IFRS, with associated disclosures and supporting working papers.
  • Assisting in preparing annual statutory accounts for the UK companies under IFRS and FRS101, with associated disclosures and supporting working papers.
  • Assisting in preparing annual statutory accounts for various subsidiary companies with the assistance of external in-country accountants.
  • Maintaining clear reconciliations between management accounts and statutory accounts.
  • Liaising with external auditors.
  • Half year and annual group reporting:
  • Preparing consolidated financial information for submission to the shareholder.
  • Responding to associated questions.
  • Tax - assisting the Group Tax Accountant and Group Tax Manager:
  • Preparing indirect tax returns for review by the Group Tax Accountant.
  • Gathering information and preparing analysis to assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns.
  • Preparing reconciliations for selected tax balance sheet accounts.
  • Preparing data for inclusion in annual master fie reporting.
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining process notes for key tax processes.
  • Involvement in project work.
  • Documenting and improving financial accounting and reporting processes.
  • Acting as another point of knowledge for technical accounting matters.
  • Covering for the Corporate Accountant where required.
