Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Finance Manager to join a school in Thornbury.Salary: £35,825 - £40,950

  • Hours: Monday - Friday (09:00 - 17:30)
  • 6.6 Weeks holiday, including bank holiday allowance

Finance Manager duties include:
  • Ensuring that accurate financial records are maintained and provide relevant financial information to ensure the effective running of the school.
  • To promote the highest standards of financial accounting, drawing on a sound understanding of best practice and current and relevant regulatory requirements
  • To continually review and improve the systems surrounding all aspects of the schools budgets, forecasts and business planning
  • To work closely with the Head of Human Resources to oversee the financial management of all human resources related aspects within Sheiling School.
  • Oversight of monthly payroll and the training of new staff responsible for payroll, ensuring all steps are completed competently and in a timely manner.
  • Providing high quality support to the school CEO in planning and controlling the work of the school
The ideal Finance Manager candidate will have:
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification with a thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
  • Experience in a related field and managing staff
  • Excellent time management and organisation
  • Experience in charity accounting
