Job Description

Finance AssistantBristol£25 - £27k p.aOur client, an award-winning travel company, has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join their team!Reporting to the Financial Controller and working directly with key stakeholders in the business, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including monthly reporting, processing transactions and journals, performing reconciliations.The role:

  • Supporting the month end close process through the completion of month end tasks including month end journal posting and reconciliations, in line with the timetable
  • Assisting in the preparation of the monthly Business Review pack
  • Contributing to the on-going improvement of existing processes and controls
  • Providing information to support the year end audit and statutory accounts preparation
  • Proactively supporting other teams (UK and worldwide) to help resolve queries
  • Updating cashbooks and posting the transactions
  • Processing Sales and Purchase Ledger invoices and payments in the system
  • Obtaining authorisations and creating batch payments via the online banking platforms
  • Internal payroll processing
Key skills/ experience:
  • Studying towards / qualified at AAT Level 4 or higher
  • At least 2 years experience in a Finance function
  • Ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to get to grips quickly with systems and various specialist applications
  • Intermediate user of Excel (e.g. IF statements, VLOOKUP, etc., confident analysing large amounts of data)
  • Knowledge of Sage300 would be advantageous
