Job Description

Job title:Mechanical Design Engineer - AerospaceLocation: BristolThe RoleJob DescriptionEngineering Manager

    • Lead engineering packages of work concerning all stages of the lifecycle, achieving project and customer milestones and Identify opportunities.
    • Specify, capture and manage requirements.
    • Direct and coordinate hardware architecture studies.
    • Ensures that hardware architecture stability is maintained across lifecycle phases from Bid to Delivery.
    • Provide technical, technological, and methodological data in respect of selected hardware architecture.
    • Develop and agree development plans, taking responsibility for the plan.
    • Work collaboratively to produce cost effective, easy to manufacture design solutions.
    • Provide detailed estimates for; bids, production, trials, and integration as required.
    • Management of engineering projects from the requirements phase through design, development and IVVQ.
    • Define network architecture including definition of all protocols, quality of service, addressing scheme and security measures.
    • Agreeing Integration, Verification and Validation Methods.
Prepare & report project Metrics data like RACI, KPIs, escalation process, and resolution process and ways of working.Qualification & SkillsDegree level or equivalent in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.5 Years of Experience in Aeronautical/ domain.Essential skills:
  • Aeronautical knowledge in mechanical stress calculation and design knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, Acrobat.
  • Knowledge in Design and Analysis
  • Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team
  • Customer focused/Able to establish credibility with internal and external customers
  • Team oriented, selfmotivated and willing to take responsibility
  • Able to work to tight, demanding deadlines and customer demands
  • Good written and oral Communication skills
Additional requirements
  • Experience on Military or defence industry with an understanding of Naval platforms will be added advantage
  • shall be trained and familiar in ITAR regulations & requirement and Export Administration Regulations(EAR)
SECURITY clearance requirement
  • SC security status before Tasking commences.
  • Be a sole UK national
