Engineering and Design ManagerFishponds, BristolAbout UsTGS is a leading Vehicle Converter encompassing both Van Conversions and Truck Bodies. However, a successful business never stands still and we aim to increase our market share and develop our business with new innovations, leaner processes and further product enhancements, and that’s where you come in.So, if you are ready to take on more responsibility and develop your skills with a company with great values and principles, we are waiting to hear from you.The RoleWorking closely with the Directors, as the Engineering and Design Manager, you will be tasked with the overall leadership of the Engineering and Design Department and will report directly to the board.You will play a vital role in the delivery of the company strategic plan and will support efforts to grow the business through further market penetration, increased turnover and enhanced profitability.Reviewing internal processes and building methodology, you will champion the use of subcontractors, effectively manage the existing team to embed an accountable mindset and work alongside the Production Manager to achieve strategic goals.Your role will also include:- Reviewing existing designs- Managing drawings and controlling change processes- Taking responsibility for quality control within the department- Overseeing and managing new product development processesAbout YouTo be considered as the Engineering and Design Manager, you will need:- At least five years’ leadership and/or management experience- At a minimum, five years’ design and/or engineering experience- A proven track record in innovation, Lean manufacturing and increasing profitability- A sound grasp of CAD and other design disciplines- A demonstrable history of successful change managementPrevious automotive experience would be advantageous.Other organisations may call this role Design Manager, Engineering Design Manager, Lead Design Engineer, Design Engineering Manager, CAD Manager, or Automotive Design Manager.Webrecruit and TGS Group are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
