We are working with defence contractor supporting them with appointing an experienced Engineer for a role I their Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) area.Location: BristolType: hybrid with 3 days per week working from home, 36 hrsSalary: £42,245 - £47,215 per annum.The company are open to consider anyone with any level of Electromagnetic experience. This position with them is dedicated to looking at the Electromagnetic compatibility of devices and applications being used on defence platforms (Ships, submarines etc). Butthey will consider someone who has had any form of exposure to Electromagnetic Engineering, design consideration or testing / application effectiveness.Day to day, youll be a source of EMC expertise and will be working on the EMC Support tasks on a wide variety of projects run by project: * Supporting the customer by way of EMC technical consultation* Reviewing EMC Test documentation* Assisting project managers in achieving EMC compliance on a wide variety of submarine projects* Maintaining accurate records* Supporting with the designing and creation of representative setups of complex systems and equipment in laboratory environments to then be used for formal EMC Testing* Assisting the development of a capability to perform (non-UKAS accredited) EMC troubleshooting (i.e. using methods such as pre-scanning) and EMC failure resolutionEssential experience of the EMC Engineer:* Awareness of EMC principles and theory, including test requirements, plans and reports* Demonstrable experience creating accurate records and logsQualifications for the EMC Engineer:* Minimum of ONC or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics plus required experience or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or science equivalent and aiming to achieve professional registration in future.The role is working on government projects so will require the successful candidate to complete SC security clearance - will only consider UK Passport holders for this role (to be eligible for the security clearance).
