Electrical and Software Design Engineer

Electrical and Software Design Engineer required for a manufacturing company in Bristol that specialises in packaging machinery

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience/qualifications.
37.5 hrs a week
25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays – increasing to 28 after 5 years’ service
Based in south Bristol, easily accessible by public transport or free parking on site.

About the role

Design Electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
Write and develop PLC and Servo Motion code for machine control using Rockwell and Beckhoff.
Attend specification meetings with customers, providing authoritative contribution regarding the Electrical design aspects of the project.
Communicate with other design engineers (mechanical and electrical) the design on projects to ensure that these are fully coordinated.
Provide assistance to Assembly personnel during the build phase of a project.
Write and develop HMI code for operator interfaces using Rockwell and Zenon.
Write and develop Safety controller code for the machine safety using Pilz and Phoenix.
Produce Bill of Materials using Agile product lifecycle management software.
Commissioning of packaging machinery at client and customer site.

The right candidate

Electrical Engineering HNC or equivalent qualification
Extensive Engineering experience
Full UK manual driving license.
Valid passport to enable travel within EU and globally as required.
Good communicator; written, verbal and presentation
Confident user of MS office package
Experienced programming using Rockwell, Beckhoff and Zenon software
Ability to design for manufacture and assembly using AutoCAD electrical or EPLAN.
An understanding of the machinery directive, UKCA, UL and CE marking regulations.An understanding of 60204 regulations.
Trained in using performance safety levels and the use of Sistema.
Understanding of Servo motion technology.
