Job Description

Document Automation SpecialistBristol or Edinburgh£50,000 - £55,000 + bonus & benefitsThe CompanyDue to ongoing expansion and development, a position is available for a Document Automation Specialist to join a growing innovation team. This independent regional UK law firm is known for its highly effective solutions to clients’ complex needs within selectedmarkets which include the largest public and private sector organisations, alongside SMEs and high net worth individuals.Key Responsibilities of the Document Automation Specialist

  • To provide comprehensive support in relation to document automation including: managing document automation projects; authoring templates; maintaining and updating existing automations; providing technical expertise and support on document automation; andsupporting and developing best practice and governance
  • To create automated templates using our document automation tools including gathering requirements from precedent/template owners or subject matter experts, and providing training and support to lawyers and others on how to mark-up a document for automation
  • To be a subject matter expert in our document automation technologies
  • Support business users by providing authoring support, training, promoting and documenting best practice, and sharing product knowledge
  • Ensure automations are consistent with internal document automation best practice and the firms house style
  • Work closely with our practice areas to promote and support document automation and helping to identify opportunities where automation can assist
  • Work closely and build strong relationships with other professionals (including Legal Project Managers and IT specialists) within the wider Transformation & Projects team and Technology team, together with our Professional Support Lawyers, to contributeto the delivery of our innovation and legal service delivery projects which involve document automation.
  • Assist with market reviews of document automation products to ensure that the firm continues to use the most appropriate tools for document automation and advise on the potential of alternative products.
  • Work with the Innovation Manager and the team to support the delivery of various initiatives which involve document automation
  • Contributing to promoting the team externally as required which may include attending innovation and legal tech events
Skills & Attributes of the Document Automation Specialist
  • Experience working with and excellent working knowledge of document automation technologies such as Contract Express, HighQ, Clarilis or similar
  • Good knowledge of how legal work is delivered and the use of legal technology
  • Able to understand law firm or other high performance business environments and deal competently and diplomatically with lawyers and business services professionals of all levels
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a professional approach to (internal and external) clients and the ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships, knowledge share and clearly articulate and explain document automation solutionsand requirements in non-technical terms
  • Demonstrate a manner and judgement which inspires confidence and the ability to converse in both a technical language and non-technical/user friendly way as appropriate for the circumstances
  • Ability to work collaboratively and within a close knit team in a collegiate environment
  • Ability to produce engaging content to promote the work of the team
  • A natural problem solver with a keen interest in technology and its applications
