Job Description

Dispatch Operative required for a manufacturing company in the engineering sector, based in Avonmouth, BS11

  • £22,942 to £28,038 per annum DOE
  • Excellent overtime rates - Saturdays 1.5x, Sundays 2x, Bank Holidays 3x
  • Monday to Friday, 0800-1630
  • Early starts and late finishes are not uncommon - overtime rates apply!

About the job
  • To prepare goods for dispatch to customers within the UK and overseas
  • Fabricating cases in accordance with customer specifications, using various power tools such as saws and nail guns
  • To package goods using foam lining, bubble wrapping and foil bagging to protect them during lifting, handling, shipment and storage
  • Strapping and stretch wrapping of goods to protect from ingress of moisture & dirt
  • Locking-down machines, securing goods to bases using brackets, as necessary
  • Ensuring cases are correctly protected by shock and tilt indicators and correctly marked and stamped where heat treated timber is used
  • Keeping records and completing paperwork
The right candidate
  • Mechanically minded and confident using hand tools and power tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting
  • Experience of counterbalance forklift operation - B1 & B2
  • Please be aware that this role may involve travel away from home and occasionally abroad
