Job Description

DevOps EngineerLocation: Remote/BristolInitial Duration: 6 MonthsRate £Competitive day rateOverview of RoleAs the DevOps Engineer you will be supporting the Digital Development Team by implementing automation, integration and deployment of code. To support both non-production and production Digital environments.This role requires a strong technical experience with DevOps technologies, preferably Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud services and the Atlassian stack (BitBucket & Octopus being the focus).This role would suit an Automation developer /DevOps or Cloud engineer/SRE.Applicants should also be able to read and understand code, particularly ASP.NET, MVC, C#, HTML / XHTML, XML, WCF & SQL, Should be proficient using NPM, and Visual Studio. Comfortable with both Windows and Linux based platforms and technologies.Requirements

  • You will be expected to read and understand code, particularly ASP.NET, MVC, C#, HTML / XHTML, XML, WCF & SQL, Should be proficient using NPM, and Visual Studio. Comfortable with both Windows and Linux based platforms and technologies.
  • Applicants should be experienced with scripting where bash, powershell and python would all be relevant.
  • Infrastructure as code experience necessary - Terraform/ARM ideally, although all experience relevant.
  • Desirable skillsets include Entity Framework, APIs (consumption and provision), Angular, Splunk, AppDynamics, Jenkins, testing frameworks.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps role is required, including previous work with agile practices. Role will require working with Development team to work on user stories and tasks to deliver the solution.
  • In addition, they should have a solid understanding of security and how to apply it to the various layers within a deployment pipeline and web facing solution.
  • Experience building and deploying mobile apps for both iOS and Android would be a significant advantage.
