Job Description

DevOps Engineer / Bristol / £595 per day outside IR35We are currently recruiting for a Devops Engineer to join our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence organisation. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our products throughout their lifecycle. Youll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualise, develop, and release cutting-edge software solutions. Yourresponsibilities will include ensuring software quality, implementing fixes and upgrades, fortifying security measures, and gathering customer feedback to enhance user experience. Additionally, youll have the opportunity to pitch innovative project ideasbased on market gaps and technological advancements.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with coworkers to conceptualise, develop, and release software.
  • Conduct quality assurance to ensure software meets prescribed guidelines.
  • Implement fixes and upgrades as needed.
  • Secure software to prevent security breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Collect and review customer feedback to enhance user experience.
  • Suggest alterations to workflows to improve efficiency and success.
  • Pitch ideas for projects based on market gaps and technological advancements.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in CI/CD (e.g., Gitlab CI, Terraform, Ansible, Helm Charts, Python, PowerShell, REST APIs).
  • Experience with Kubernetes cluster build and application delivery.
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi, Elastic ECK, and Artifactory.
  • Knowledge of secret management tools such as HashiCorp Vault.
  • Operating system expertise in Red Hat and Windows environments.
  • Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience across all phases of the software product lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of software security methods.
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of coding languages.
  • Curiosity, discernment, and a drive to push the envelope.
  • Excellent decision-making and collaboration skills.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to receive and utilise constructive criticism.
