Job Description

Development Engineer (NPI/Aerospace/Turning)Bristol£37,500 - £40,000 + 25 days holiday + pensionAre you a Development Engineer with CAD/CAM experience looking for an autonomous role working with a team on cutting edge technology to supply some of the most prestigious names in the market such as Rolls RoyceAre you from an Aerospace background looking to join a Tier 1 manufacturing business with over 80 years historyOn offer is an opportunity to work for an Engineering business supplying into the exciting and fast-growing aerospace industry who use state-of-the-art machine equipment to supply the most demanding OEM clients.As a Development Engineer, you will be involved as a key player in the team and report into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. With a team of dedicated engineers, you will take ownership of the Engineering Process, develop strategies for developing newproducts and processes and applying continued improvement throughout.The successful candidate:

  • Highly skilled Engineer, with relevant skills/qualifications.
  • CAD/CAM experience - Solidworks & MasterCAM preferred. (Training can be provided).
  • Project management skills desirable (6S).
  • Be able to program/edit online at the machine.
  • Experience proving programs and running first offs.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and program CNC machines from the drawings.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace specs
  • Able to undertake high end, complicated NPI/Prototyping/Fixturing.
  • Experience of tooling and high-end materials.
  • Experience of machining complex, non-symmetrical parts.
  • Programming, setting and operating 2, 3 and 4 axis lathes with live tooling / driven tooling.
