You want to continue your career in management, but you didnt get into engineering just to be a paper-pusher.You enjoy supporting and guiding other engineers to achieve their best results, but dont want to be distanced from that technical problem-solving which is the lifeblood of a Controls Engineer. You want to be a Controls Manager who is supported and mentored, allowing you to develop and give your best without being left to sink or swim.In this role you would be delivering results through your team of six Controls Engineers, but also getting stuck-in to the technical aspects of projects at times, including PLC programming and systems integration of robots and VSDs.This is a newly created role within the business, to provide support for the Engineering Manager and be a key liaison between the Controls Engineers and the upper management. You will guide, support and hold to account the Controls Engineers. This may entail reviewing & signing off their work, allocating the right engineers to specific projects, and leading projects yourself.Youll be working closely with the Engineering Manager initially to understand the strengths of the engineers on your team, and will benefit from direct support to help you with the people management aspects of the role such as performance reviews. You will have a direct mentor in the Engineering Manager, so this is a perfect opportunity if you have some management experience, but also a desire to develop further your capabilities in leadership. As part of a close-knit team you will collaborate with talented engineers to deliver on complex projects, within a company who are constantly moving forward and developing. The machines you would be delivering are highly interesting from an engineering perspective, incorporating extremely high-precision motion control and achieving many industry firsts. You would be working from an impressive new site near Bristol, which they moved into 18 months ago. This has been laid out to be perfectly fit-for-purpose for the current needs, allowing room to expand and provide a world class working environment.During the pandemic they have placed a large focus on improving systems and processes. This has strengthened the team and provided greater focus on staff development. This role will provide a salary of £55,000 - £65,000 plus benefits, the chance to utilise and develop your management capabilities and stretch your brain with engaging technical problem-solving.If this sounds of interest please apply or message Seth Bland on LinkedIN for more informationTo find out more about Huxley Engineering, please visit www.huxleyengineering.comHuxley Engineering, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy | Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 Englandand Wales
