Job Description

We are currently working on behalf of out trusted client who are looking for a Conference Production Team Manager. As the foremost provider of information, market intelligence, and conferences for the global plastics industry, our client’s primary objective is to empower you with business-critical insights,enabling you to make well-informed decisions.What You Can Expect

Main Responsibilities as a Conference Production Team Manager
  • Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the conference production team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture to drive excellence and timely execution.
  • Develop and implement a strategic content strategy for the conference department.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations Team Managers teams to create a cohesive conference department.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, expansion, and innovation of the conference business aligning them with business objectives and industry trends.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging and relevant conference agendas, ensuring they are high-quality, meet the expectations of target audiences and are customer focused.
  • Identify areas for improvement in conference production processes and implement necessary changes.
  • Manage schedules and resources to ensure programmes are completed on time.
  • Recruit, train and mentor new producers to create a cohesive and effective team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on conference.
  • Produce several high-level programmes for specific events including:
  • Primary and secondary research of markets and businesses through both personal and telephone interviews and desk research.
  • Build a network of key industry professionals, inviting them to speak at the event and to advise on the latest industry trends.
  • Project manage the event and collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of conferences.
  • Produce the text/content for effective marketing campaigns that can be used for email, postal mailings, social media, online magazines, conference websites etc.
  • Work with designers and organisers to produce effective, industry-relevant, brochures.
  • Work with consultants and data entry team to build targeted mailing lists.
  • Regular travel to attend national and international events, both conferences and competitor events.
Experience & Skills Required
  • Able to motivate and lead a team, with a real focus on driving results and constantly driving improvements.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to deal with adversity and lead others through change.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to gain and sustain credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Able to work autonomously and make independent decisions without supervision, working to tight and often changing timescales.
  • Strong track record of generating successful B2B conference programmes and securing high-level speakers - ideal.
  • A keen and inquisitive mind able to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify and forecast trends, strategies, and competitive dynamics within the researched sector.
  • It would be an advantage to have experience of working on events in a related market - e.g. manufacturing, chemicals, oil & gas, materials, science, engineering, product design, automotive, medical, or packaging.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task working on more than one project at a time and to tight deadlines.
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Internet and social media.
