Job Description

Robert Half working with a dynamic and innovative company specialising in the defence industry. They are seeking a talented Commercial Finance Manager to join our finance team and play a pivotal role in our growth journey. If you are a finance professionalwith a proven track record in financial leadership, cost modelling, and data analysis, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. For the right candidate this role offers:£65,000 + £4550 car allowance + up to 10% bonus + flexible working **The role is mostly remote but would require visits to the office during busy times with bids. They have offices in Bristol, Andover, and Portsmouth. Must be able to commute to one of those offices depending on business needs**Job Summary:As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership, advanced cost modelling, and data analysis for individual projects and bids. In addition to project support, you will also contribute to various aspects of businessgrowth, including bid and financial appraisals, budgeting and financial management, pipeline and order book management, and strategic planning.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide finance support to bids and other growth projects by leveraging advanced financial modelling capabilities.
  • Ensure the robustness and accuracy of bid cost models, aligning them with key internal and external deliverables.
  • Source, analyse, and summarise data from various sources to influence and support project outcomes, encompassing financial and non-financial data such as actual and forecasted demand, readiness levels, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Establish, create, and maintain bid assumptions that can withstand thorough review and challenge.
  • Continuously enhance bid cost models, tools, and Future Business Finance processes to optimise efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and provide support for stakeholder engagements that may be required to facilitate new business or bid activity, including customer interactions, legal/commercial discussions, engagement with financial institutions, and collaboration with Group stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • A qualification in ACCA, CIMA, ACA
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with bids and tender processes is a plus.
  • Defence experience is a plus.
