Commercial Design Engineer - Renewable Energyupto £44k per annum, 25 days holiday plus statutory, Pension, Company performance bonus related pay plan, Company Car scheme, Private Health Insurance (After 1 year of service), Flexible Working from home A well-established Manufacturer has an excellent opportunity for a candidate to join their Contracting Division as a Commercial Design Engineer, ideally based between the Midlands and the North of England, however the role can be home based.Our client provides a fully MCS accredited ground source heat pump installation service that fits with existing supply chains and client requirements. They can deliver a turnkey package and flexible contractual solutions.They assume responsibility for the entire project, spanning the ground array, heat pump, and heat distribution system, including sizing, design, purchasing, installation, and management of sub-contractors across the three stages of the heat pump installation.Main Purpose of Job:As Commercial Design Engineer, you will assist our Commercial Design team on HVAC designs for large-scale GSHP projects, assisting with the full life cycle of commercial designs from client consultation to M&E Design. You will need to have an understandingof mechanical and electrical building services design with an interest in ground source heat pumps and low carbon technologiesKey Tasks:

• To assist client consultation and assist clients in creating a clear design brief
• Perform design calculations in order to size heating and cooling installations and associated plant, including but not limited to heat pumps, heating and cooling vessels, pumps and pipework.
• To analyse, interpret, and comment on client requirements
• To author and manage RFI trackers and client-contractor-subcontractor information flow
• To develop, manage and meet design project schedules/GANTT using Microsoft Project
• To plan, coordinate, and perform, subcontractor surveys
• To author, review and coordinate M&E designs
• To produce and develop design, construction and as-fitted drawings for mechanical and electrical services, external ground-arrays, site access, and infrastructure, in AutoCAD
• To facilitate and collaborate in project handovers, and ensure project administration as required
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance of design projects
• You will need to have an understanding of heat losses and gains and be able to interrogate calculations project designs and specifications
• To assess existing HVAC installations and tailor design proposals accordingly

Person Specification:

• You will have a good knowledge of HVAC componentry and instrumentation and the ability to leverage this in your design
• You will have a developed understanding of building physics
• Experience using relevant software packages such as AutoCAD, HevaComp, IES
• Relevant Engineering Degree qualification
• Working knowledge of GSHP Systems (Advantageous)
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role
• You will have a sound understanding of engineering principles
• Ability to work with clients, suppliers, and specialist subcontractors to create working controls specifications

Package:

• Basic Salary between £36,000 - £44,000 DOE
• Pay Plan bonus scheme with OTE of £50K
