Job Description

Job Title: Commerical Contracts Manager Location: Home based (20%-30% travelling around to different sites)Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm (but can vary due to travelling, so must be willing to work longer hours at times)Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annumAPPLY TODAY!Our well established client are currently looking for a Commerical Contracts Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.Purpose of role: Review and negotiate commercial contracts for engineering projects, ensuring alignment with legal and business requirements. Highlight and communicate risks of contracts to key stakeholders whilst negotiating favorable terms for the business.Scope: You will support and advise the business on all engineering contracts, highlighting risks, assessing their potential impact and likelihood of occurrence. You will create a framework for communication and decision-making around engineeringprojects. As part of the role, you will manage multiple contracts and manage any changes throughout the contract with the customer and communicate with all stakeholders as required.Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor contracts to project specifications and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments on proposed contracts, identifying potential legal and financial risks.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company& interests.
  • Draft contractual agreements and clauses as required.
  • Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and milestones.
  • Handle change orders and variations to existing contracts, assessing their impact on project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for changes to contracts and seek approvals, as necessary.
  • Act as a point of contact for dispute resolution, working with stakeholders to resolve contractual conflicts.
  • Implement strategies to minimize the risk of disputes and claims.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to establish and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Review and negotiate terms with external partners to ensure favorable contractual arrangements for the business.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of contracts.
  • Regularly evaluate contract performance and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Work closely with finance teams to ensure that contract terms align with budgetary constraints.
  • Implement financial controls to monitor and manage project costs.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting contract management in the engineering sector.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.General:

  • Undertake such other duties, training & or hours of work as may be reasonably required & which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
Essential
  • Bachelors degree in business, Law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial contract management within the engineering or construction industry.
  • Legal knowledge related to contracts and familiarity with industry standards.
Desirable
  • Experience of working with MEICA contracts
  • Experience of working within NEC4 contract or equivalent
Competencies
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
  • Effective stakeholder management (People Focus)
