Focussed on supporting the Royal Navys in-service combat systems, trusted to deliver and sustain the fight function to ensure mission ready submarines.Day to day, youll oversee a team of 4 Senior Engineers and Engineers providing guidance, leadership, advice and direction. Manage resource demands and develop capability skills across the team to match the needs of current and future workloads. Providetechnical management of the engineering outputs to ensure timely and efficient delivery of engineering work to meet customer agreed scope. Produce, review, verify and approve outputs and deliverables such as calculations, analysis, technical reports, optionsstudies and installation instructions.At Babcock, we have a history of helping talent go far. This role provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 day in the office/onsite per week dependant on workload.Must be flexible to travel to other sites.Essential experience* A broad knowledge and understanding of the Constructive, Naval Architecture, Electrical and Mechanical engineering sub-specialisations is essential.* Demonstrable knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle from concept to disposal is essential.* Experience of working in a regulated industry with a wide and diverse stakeholder group is essential.* An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbal. The individual will build and sustain effective and lasting relationships with the Customer, Stakeholders and our teams located in Bristol, Devonport and Clyde.* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, Power Point, Visio and CAD.* Degree qualified or HND/HNC level qualification with demonstrable extensive experience in a relevant engineering-based discipline.* To hold Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with relevant experience and a demonstrable path to CEng.* Member of a relevant professional engineering body (eg: IET, RINA IMechE, IMarEst etc.). * Meeting requirements to work with ITAR information is essential.* You will need to satisfy security requirements.
