We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Clinical Scientist trained in Nuclear Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). The successful applicant will help provide scientific and clinical support to our comprehensive diagnostic services.Medical Physics and Bioengineering is a large department of nearly 200 staff, including Clinical Scientists, Clinical Technologists, Trainees, Support staff and clerical teams. We work across two major NHS Trusts, and support other services over a wider area.The Nuclear Medicine Physics Group supports two diagnostic nuclear medicine departments, with four SPECT-CT, one SPECT, and associated computer systems, and a private PET-CT service. We also support all other uses of unsealed sources, including a central radiopharmacy, transport of radioactive materials to NHS hospitals and other users, and management of radioactive materials and waste.There are opportunities for further study, including on the Higher Specialist Scientist Training programme (HSST), and to train in Radiation Protection and Radioactive Waste Management.We support many research trials and carry out innovation and research projects. Group members are encouraged to present and publish their work, and to apply for research funding including PhD and post-doctoral work.We teach radiologists, radiographers, Clinical Scientists, Clinical Technologists, radiopharmacists, and other staff.If the post holder is not currently registered as a Clinical Scientist, they may be considered for appointment in a Band 7 training post under Annex 21 (Agenda for Change) if they are able to demonstrate that they will be able to apply for registration within 12 months of commencement. Applicants with lower levels of training or experience could also be considered at band 6, to work towards STP equivalence and registration as a Clinical Scientist.
