Job Description

Are you a Civil Project Engineer looking for a role with project exposure from outline design all the way through to completionBristol Water currently has fantastic opportunity where you can really elevate your engineering career and become part of a fascinating industry where you can make an impact.What youll be doing..As Civil Project Engineer, you’ll manage and undertake the design, delivery, commissioning and handover of civil-biased, but cross discipline, engineering projects that have been handed to the Capital Projects department.You’ll be involved in the full project lifecycle, from the procurement process by preparing tender documentation, through to owning the testing phase, and crucially the completion of the project and handing back to the business with contract completion certificates and post construction reviews.In addition, you will also have opportunity to manage consultants and contractors and review any claims or variations and resolve queries.What we’re looking for …We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys design work and is happy juggle priorities and managing internal and external stakeholders. Experience of water industry would be useful, but we’re open to speak with anyone looking to develop within our fascinating industry.

  • A construction or engineering related degree with relevant design content
  • Someone who has had exposure to a design office, ideally within the Water / Utilities industry (or an industry with similar civil engineering structures)
  • Confident in using design and document management software including AutoCAD, structural analysis and design calculation packages.
  • Understanding of the implementation of construction projects from inception to completion with a clear and demonstrable understanding of CDM Regulations and other construction safety legislation, contractual arrangements, commercial awareness and the management of risk.
  • Currently, or the desire to be working towards Chartered Status.
