Job Description

Location: Westbury Park, Bristol (Free parking available on site)Hourly Rate: £11.00-£12.00ph - Linked to experience and qualifications.Annual Salary:£22,880.00 - £24,960.00 PLUS £1500 Welcome bonus*

Hours: 40 hours per week - Part time hours will be considered. Overtime is also available (currently paid at an enhanced rate)This young peoples lodge is situated close to the city centre and offers a supported living and learning environment for young adults aged 19+ with severe and complex learning difficulties.This is an exciting time to join a leading and growing organisation as part of a friendly, professional and supportive team.Being a support worker with this organisation is a genuinely rewarding career choice.They offer and pay for training and give you the opportunity to develop your career.On top of this you will earn a competitive salary and generous benefits package.What is a Support WorkerYou will be working 1:1 with a resident on each shift.You will have the freedom to plan their day in line with their choices and wishes, enabling them to be as independent as possible.You will be providing personal care to residents as well as supporting them in a wide range of learning, development and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips and fun social occasions.We are looking for pro-active individuals who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to supporting our young people.Skills
  • Motivated to learn and to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possible.
  • Exceptional communication skills and patience.
  • Experience working within special needs and/or support/care roles (either in a paid or personal environment)
  • A strong understanding of what "outstanding care" looks like

  • Able to work within the parameters of the physical demands of the job role.
