Job Description

OverviewH9 Technical Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a CAD Designer on a contract basis, with an option to move into a full-time permanent role. The role is with a world leading technology developer within the clean energy sector. Based in their officesin the South West. You will be responsible for CAD support on a £175m joint venture project to deliver a commercial facility converting household waste to biomethane, and the companys subsequent projects. You will take direction from the Engineering Director,contributing directly to the project plant layout and 3D model.Role & Responsibilities

  • Using Inventor and Autocad, perform 3D solid modelling of Plasma Converter gas space for CFD modelling.
  • Develop model based on output from CFD to achieve a refined model.
  • Develop plot plans, equipment layouts and 3D models for incorporation into overall facility design, beginning with space claims and detailing the model over time.
  • Identifying and developing electrical and piping corridors.
  • Working with the Client team to develop the model interfaces, generating tie point and interface lists.
  • Support development of CAD management systems and document/revision control.
  • Produce drawings as required by the project; these may include layouts, P&IDs, PFDs, SLDs, for onward development by the client.
  • Contribute to constructability reviews.
  • Participate in safety assessments and design reviews as required.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Formal qualifications in the use of the CAD systems employed.
  • Minimum HND in a design or engineering field.
  • Clear and current understanding of relevant standards relating to plant layout and design.
  • Understanding of Process design documentation.
  • Knowledge of Engineering document control systems.
  • Proven ability to work and direct work safely, ensuring the safety of others and complying with all safety assessment requirements.
  • Work innovatively to provide solutions to challenges.
  • Ability to learn and understand new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience in Process Engineering fields or related sectors (for example waste, speciality/fine chemicals, dairy/beverage, oil & gas).
  • Ideally significant experience (5+ years) in similar engineering environment.
  • Formal qualification in H&S.
  • Computer literate and competent user of MS Office.
  • Work experience on large Process Package development.
  • Passionate about a renewable future in green energy.
