Job Description

C++ Software EngineerBased in BristolCompetitive rate12 Month contract - Likely to be extendedSC is required for this role Are you a forward thinking and talented software engineer who is passionate about creating high quality softwareDo you enjoy being proactive and taking initiative within a projectOur client is looking for a highly capable and adaptable Software Engineer to join their team at the Bristol facility, to help develop solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems.The Role:

  • Designing and developing Test Equipment software to test world leading complex systems and sub-components.
  • Working with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to deliver test software capability of products from early concept to production.
  • Exploring and experimenting with new implementations and technologies to meet the ever-challenging customer requirements.
  • Challenging and implementing real change when opportunities arise in the way the software is developed both within test software and the wider software community.
  • Embracing Agility and delivering value to the company giving you are real sense of achievement.
  • Working in a Software Engineering office / lab environment engaging with test equipment and electronic circuitry.
Skillset/experience required:
  • A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
  • Experience of working in C++
  • Collaborative, open approach to development and have the ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum during development.
  • Experience of working across the entire software development process from engaging with requirement authorities to automated target integration and proving, supported with effective documentation.
  • Experience of new tools, techniques and approaches that might enable us to evolve our processes to improve our efficiency and sustainability.
  • Experience in other languages such as Ada, QT
  • Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real Time Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C or IEC61508 and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++
