Job Description

Are you a proven Retail Buyer, ideally with experience of fine jewellery (or similar)Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with luxury brands and high-end productsCan you manage the category strategy, negotiating effectively with vendors, whilst working closely with your MerchandiserIf this sounds like you, then the Buyer (Fine Jewellery) could be the perfect role for you! The vacancy is for 12 months to cover maternity leave.About the role:Reporting to the Category Manager, the role will manage the Fine Jewellery category through market research, range selection, assortment planning, brand sourcing, and supplier relationships. The Buyer will represent the category and the company by maintainingpositive relationships with suppliers whilst negotiating terms and pricing.The role is based in Avonmouth and offered on a hybrid working basis (2-3 days per week). If you have excellent Fine Jewellery category experience, and live further afield, this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.What you will be doing:Key areas of responsibility:

  • Vendor management – end to end management including sourcing new suppliers and negotiation
  • Range management – full management by cruise line/ship, working closely with merchandising and suppliers to review accordingly, as well as global promotional programmes
The role will work cross functionally across Harding, specifically with Merchandising, Marketing, Operations and Visual Merchandising to ensure product supply, stock, promotions, and positioning of product on board.About you:
  • Proven Retail Buying experience preferably within Fine Jewellery
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Good presentation and face to face communication ability required, with proven negotiation skills
  • Adaptable attitude towards change, opportunities, and project management as required
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Structured planning, organisation, and time management skills
  • A collaborator who relishes the opportunity of working within an entrepreneurial environment and delivering results against challenging targets
  • Must have an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK
