Job Description

Do you have Business Manager experience in the Maritime/Defence sectors, and are you looking for a new opportunity in Bristol Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a full-time Business Manager, and the hybrid role comes withan excellent salary and benefits package.As a Marine Business Manager, you will be liaising closely with business development, engineering, and the project management office to ensure projects and bids are delivered on time, to cost and quality.To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Define business unit strategy, prepare rolling 3-year business plans and annualised budgets
  • Deliver the budgeted revenue, ensuring maintenance of overall and business unit Gross Margin
  • Manage the Marine project portfolio and stakeholders, ensuring its delivery to time, cost and quality and the management of customer expectations
  • Seek opportunities for both new and existing customers, covering the whole capture lifecycle, including lead generation, capture planning, proposal writing and contract negotiations
To apply for this Business Manager (Marine) role, you will need experience in the UK marine defence market sector and knowledge of the core engineering capabilities - Submarine systems, naval architecture, system design, software and product development.You will also require the following:
  • An engineering background and demonstrable exposure to and success in project management, business development and business management
  • An understanding of Export Control, Dual-Use and Foreign Regulatory Framework (ITAR, EAR) (desirable, but not essential)
