It is essential that the successful candidate is a technical sales professional with specifier, contractor and project sales experience in the construction industry. It ispreferred that you are based close to the M4, however we are open to applicants from other areas.The purpose of this role is to create strong relationships and pull through business by working collaboratively with Contractors and Distributors by managing self-generated project opportunities and lead-sharing, for the 3 main Technical Insulation markets- HVAC (incl. Fire Protection System), Marine & Industry.Focusing on building existing relationships with Distributors, Sub-Contractors and a select number of M&E Consulting Engineers to secure new business, project specifications and change of specifications. The Business Development Managers will also be responsiblefor managing high volume projects, specified by the Specification Manager, through all commercial stages to order, engaging with contractors and distributors to secure the specifications and develop other discretionary business.Concentrating on growth from key focus specialist thermal sub-contractors on a monthly basis through analysis of sales figures and through lead-sharing and technical solution sales (using bespoke calculation software).The role will also involve; delivering CPDs, providing Technical Solution Sales adhering to Building Regulations and using bespoke calculation software, cultivating customer intimacy through customer and trade association events and managing joint initiativeswith our direct customers to build great working relationships to increase market share.What were looking for:

  • Technical Sales Professional with Specifier, Contractor and Project Sales experience in construction - Essential
  • Experience specifying / selling passive fire protection solutions
  • High customer focus, able to anticipate and adapt to customer needs and expectations and develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Able to work on own initiative in an organised way with a high level of drive and motivation to succeed
  • Technical and practical knowledge of construction products and RIBA project stages
  • Project management skills with the ability to work concept to closure
  • Knowledge of the regional marketplace and products to maximise opportunities
  • Ability to work as a team and cross functionally
  • Self-motivated, organised and using CRM to support the business plan and needs of customers
  • Demonstrate creativity and present with confidence
  • Ability to adapt to change and be agile in ways of working to meet the needs of the customer.
What you will be doing:
  • Record, monitor and manage all project, package, company, contact, and actions within CRM on a daily basis to ensure regular and effective communication across all relevant functions
  • Establishing and maintaining an effective and constantly evolving network of contacts and stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure the voice of the customer and the market informs our decision and our activity is aligned to achieve common objectives
  • Delivery of monthly specification targets (no. / volume) and annual revenue, volume and price targets within a geographical area
  • Delivering a defined number of CPD sessions with specifiers (and some contractors where appropriate) to educate and create demand, leading to specification opportunities.
  • Responsible for the commercial price management of special pricing to contractors and distributors on projects for all Technical Insulation product groups with the support of the Business Development Director for overall margin assessment
  • To ensure all distributors (branches and sales personnel) are managed for pull through business development (lead generation/sharing) in line with agreed visit frequencies and account development plans
