Job Description

Automatic Door Engineer – Permanent£35k basic - 42k OTE - negotiableWales / Bristol areaHours – 40 hours + overtimeMultiskilled Engineer / Autodoors / Industrial Doors / Manufacturing / Engineer / PermanentThe Recruitment Group is working with a UK-based company with extensive over 50 years of industry experience with the manufacturing and installation of aluminium-glazed, automatic sliding & swing door, gate & barrier systems (including security-rated versions).They also supply a range of industrial doors and provide a 24-7 national after-sales service for both door ranges.Purpose of the Automatic Door Engineer role:The purpose of the engineer role is to carry out installation, service, maintenance, and repair work of all door systems to the complete satisfaction of customers and in the most efficient, cost-effective manner. This role necessitates frequent travel andmay require overnight stays away from home.Weekend, out-of-hours, unsociable hours, and night working is a requirement of the role. The engineer for this role will cover the Bristol, Gloucester, South Wales & Cheltenham area.Main duties and responsibilities of a Automatic Door Engineer:

  • To carry out all customer work associated with the installation, repair, and servicing of door systems.
  • To complete all allocated work within the most cost-efficient timescales.
  • To carry out a dynamic risk assessment for every site visit to minimise all potential risks to self and others.
  • To diagnose and quantify repairs or upgrades and price accordingly. To maximise all revenue opportunities.
  • To participate in the out-of-hours call-out and standby rotas.
  • To complete all relevant paperwork clearly and concisely. Ensure all timesheets and other paperwork are submitted on time.
  • To always adhere to company quality standards. To meet customer expectations on service delivery and professional standards.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Automatic Door Engineer:
  • Experience in the installation & maintenance of auto doors, industrial doors, gates & barriers.
  • Good organisational skills and communication skills.
  • Physically able to carry out the role and work unsociable hours sometimes away from home.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of regulations of auto doors and industrial doors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • ADSA / DHF trained. (Desirable but can be trained)
  • CSCS card (desirable)
  • IPAF / PASMA. (Desirable but can be trained)
