Job Description

Interim Financial Recruitment SolutionsInterim Assistant Head of Finance required immediatelyWhere: Home based with occasional travel to BristolContact length: 3 months +Reference: 7015640Daily Rate: £200 - £240 DOE (via umbrella)Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Assistant Head of Finance with commissioning experience gained within the NHS to join our client’s team for a 3 month contract initially.Duties will include:

  • The role supports the business in planning, and commissioning to deliver local health services which are high quality, effective, within appropriate governance frameworks
  • Supports performance management arrangements across the organisations and ensures that appropriate action is taken to improve performance
  • Ensures financial and performance information requirements are successfully met including participation in production of five year financial plans, monthly finance and activity reporting
  • Provision of strategic financial management advice
  • Act as the expert in relation to the financial services received from the Commissioning Support Service ensuring that key performance indicators and objectives are delivered at a consistent and sustainable level
  • Develops strong relationships with customers as part of a multi-disciplinary matrix team
  • Promotes best use of resources
  • Business Partnering with relevant managers and leading the delivery of robust finance and performance information in a format that is communicated effectively
  • Finance lead on the developing co-commissioning agendas and leading on discussions with NHS England/Improvement (NHSE/I), GPs and Commissioning colleagues
  • Understanding and interpreting guidance on conflicts of interest and other governance issues arising from the new arrangements
  • Leading on financial discussions with GPs and Practice Managers including attendance at locality meetings
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Directors, GPs, Practice Managers and other senior managers
  • Line management of Finance interns and NHS graduate trainees including designing work experience to complement competency requirements and organisation requirements
    • Essential Requirements:
  • CCAB Qualified Accountant with substantial post-qualification experience
  • Commissioning experience gained within the NHS
  • Detailed knowledge of the NHS Finance and Performance regime
  • Inspiring confidence & developing highly effective working relationships with finance, clinical and non-finance colleagues, including those at a senior level
  • Ability to interpret National policy that impacts on finance
  • Experience of NHS financial management regime
