Job Description

Our client wants to excel, and they need the best people to make this happen.The Role:The Debt Management function is responsible for the management of customers in financial difficulty. As an Arrears Consultant you will build relationships with customers to understand their financial position, assess their circumstances and propose solutionsthat help limit losses to the bank. You may deal with customers who have emerging financial difficulties and/or vulnerabilities, and provide advice and support through the entire collections cycle.

  • Contacting customers by telephone to understand their financial circumstances
  • Managing your own caseload, ensuring your actions are in line with the required regulatory framework
  • Agreeing appropriate next steps to assist customers in financial difficulty
  • Signposting customers to agencies that can provide further support (eg. external agencies and debt advice organisations).
  • Monitoring ongoing arrangements to ensure they accurately reflect customer`s current financial circumstances
  • Acting in line with Treating Customers Fairly, considering all suitable options available to the customer whilst ensuring risk to the bank is minimised.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in a customer service orientated role
  • Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Confident in using multiple computer systems
  • The ability to work as part of a dynamic team (NB. The role can be performed remotely with some days required in the Bristol office)
