Area Sales Manager - Landscaping & Concrete ProductsJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Landscaping & Concrete ProductsIndustry Sector: Construction Products, Concrete Products, Precast Concrete, Concrete, Construction Materials, Landscaping, Block Paving, Paving Products, Flagstones, Heavyside Building Products, Main Contractors, Groundwork Contractors, Landscape Contractors,Civil Merchants, Merchants, Independent Merchants, Buying Groups, National Merchants, Merchant SupportArea to be covered: South West & South WalesRemuneration: £40,000 - £46,000 + up to £12,000 bonus (paid quarterly)Benefits: Company Car & Full Benefits Packages The role of the Area Sales Manager - Landscaping & Concrete Products will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a high end quality manufactured range of concrete products such as: retaining walls, paving, beams, blocks, flags, acoustic blocks and architectural masonry (focusing on block paving and flagstone products)
  • Majority of your time will be spent selling into independent merchants, national merchants, civil merchants, merchants, installers, stockists and distributors
  • There will be an element of stimulating demand with main contractors, groundworks contractors, landscape contractors, installers, landscape installers
  • Give knowledgeable insight on product displays / positioning and competitors
  • Attend regional merchant federation events and meetings
  • 80% of your time will be spent generating new business relationships with the remainder spent managing and expanding existing relationships.
  • Utilizing the internal support network including: design teams, estimating and internal sales
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Landscaping & Concrete Products experience with:
  • Must have experience is selling via independent builders merchants, national merchants, installers, stockists and distributors OR work for a merchant with experience of dealing with contractors
  • Would consider a contractors sales person selling to main contractors, groundworks contractors, landscape contractors, installers, landscape installers
  • Ideally have experience selling a technically similar product such as: landscaping, facing brick, bricks, concrete blocks, acoustic blocks, paving, retaining walls (not essential) open for the right person
  • Would consider somebody with a construction based qualification such as a civil engineer, structural engineer or architectural technologist with no field sales
  • Technical understanding of precast concrete design advantageous
  • Capable of both generating new business and managing / expanding existing accounts
  • Hungry, Driven but also a "safe per of hands"
  • Autonomous and poses a positive attitude
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and intelligent
