Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Below Ground Waterproofing Job Title: Area Sales Manager - Below Ground WaterproofingIndustry Sector: Below Ground Waterproofing, Sheet Membranes, Liquid Applied, Air Barriers, Roofing Underlayments, Flooring Underlayments, Fire Protection, Structural Engineers, CSSW, D&B Contractors, Main Contractors, Groundworkers, Concrete Frame Sub ContractorsAreas to be covered: a) London/ Essex b) London/ Kent c) Bristol, Birmingham & OxfordRemuneration: £50,000 - £55,000 Neg. + 25% bonus Benefits: BMW or Merc Hybrid car or car allowance + comprehensive benefits The role of the Area Sales Manager - Below Ground Waterproofing will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a manufactured range of below ground membranes and liquids
  • 75% specification sales led with structural engineers
  • 25% managing predominantly sub contractor relationships within groundworkers and concrete frame sub contractors, but also main contactors and D&B contractors
  • Working within a growing sales team (currently 6 nationally), collectively contributing towards the UK revenue target
  • 75% account managing large projects within the existing sales pipeline for 2022, 25% new business prospecting for 2023/2024 projects
  • Daily virtual team meetings, sometimes large projects will be allocated based on contractor relationships
  • Utilising Barber ABI leads, Showpad and sales force CRM software
  • Typical minimum project values of £100,000 of material (£10m-15m build costs), currently the whole team is working on one project worth up to £5m of material
  • Track specified projects through the design process and value sell to the end users
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Construction Chemicals & Concrete Admixtures with:
  • Specification field sales experience with a structural building product
  • Team player
  • Ideally sold to structural engineers, groundworkers +/or concrete frame sub contractors
  • Specific knowledge of below ground waterproofing may be advantageous but is not essential, our client has hired other building products backgrounds previously such as insulation, readymix concrete etc.
  • Contacts within main contractors or D&B contactors not essential
  • Mustnt be intimidated by large project sizes
  • Must be a team player - no lone rangers!
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to challenge structural sales leader, daily if necessary
  • CSSW qualification not essential
  • Gregarious with excellent people skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • IT literate, ability to utilise in-house CRM system
