You will be responsible for driving of results across your client accounts, through the execution of communication strategies and activitiesas set by your account manager and/or account lead. You are expected to have regular contact with key spokespeople and clients, acting as their "eyes and ears"; you must regularly demonstrate that you know their key media inside out and are always watchingthe news agenda. You should also be proactive in growing your understanding of other marketing channels.Primary responsibilities for the PR Account ExecutiveMedia relationsEstablish contacts with media relevant to your clients industries and be proactive in identifying new contacts Maintain strong relationships with the media and ensure that clients are front of mind by communicating with them on a regular basis by telephone and email Meet with journalists on a monthly basisUse journalist contacts to benefit clients by achieving coverage in target mediaUtilise key skills such as negotiation to secure results with journalistsKeep abreast of the media agenda and flag newsjacking opps to team and clientDevelop news angles and place stories in a cross section of print, broadcast and online mediaResearch journalists ahead of sell in to ensure the best approach to secure coverageTake part in formal sell ins of news stories and features to the media.ReportingEnsure client coverage is captured and flagged to clients as soon as it is publishedTake responsibility for first drafts of weekly and monthly reports, working with the account manager to ensure that results are being "sold" back to clientsTake responsibility for developing client call and meeting agendas, circulating post call actions and ensuring these are all delivered to the client on timeUpdate evaluation trackers and metrics on a weekly basis (or appropriate for clients)PlanningContribute to client planning by providing proactive ideas and contributing to team brainstormsTake responsibility for ensuring you have a good understanding of the activity/KPIs outlined in the WIP or statement of workMaintain features, awards, events and speaking trackers for all client accounts, flagging to the team and clients when relevant opportunities are coming upWritingEnsure emails to team and client are clear and communicate effectively All copy should be presented to team with a right first time approachBecome competent in the primary forms of marketing-communications copywriting including news releases, case studies, articles and letter writingDevelop copy for clients social media accountsDevelop writing skills beyond the production of core PR content to include project proposals, presentations and wider forms of communication contentCreativityBring new ideas for story pitches and creative campaigns to internal teams and clients on a regular basis Attend all brainstorms, working ahead of time to form preliminary ideas and build on those presented by others during the sessionClient engagementBuild a strong understanding of your clients business, their competitors and the market in which they exist through regular research and reading of relevant titlesEstablish and build relationships with direct clientTake an active role in weekly calls and monthly meetings whilst taking notes of all points/actions discussed for client and teamResponsible for developing daily news updates to clients (where appropriate)Manage your own activity in accordance to the scope of work your Account Manager has setCommunicate the value that the company delivers
