Job Description

Role: Key Account Manager / National Account ManagerSector: Construction Sales - Builders Merchants - National House BuildersLocation: Midlands and Wales Salary: £44,000 - £48,000 + 25% bonus, company vehicle etc.We are recruiting a National Accounts Manager / Key Accounts Manager:- Someone with a proven sales / business development / account managment experience in construction materials and related products. - Someone who has exposure to National House Builders and/or Tier 1 Contractors. - Someone who has built relationships with senior level stakeholders liasing at Head Office and Regional Office level, managing accounts at strategic level.Our client is a leading national distributor of building materials - a leading builders merchant. You will be part of a specialist team of 8 who support the wider business, ensuring the relationships with the top customers are maintained. Primarily, this willbe the National House Builders and Tier 1 Contractors. You will inherit 1 or 2 National Accounts but you will also be responsibl for all the accounts within your region.This role is primarily going to be based from home but the region you would inherit is the Midlands & Wales.Working for a market leading building supplies company, you will receive a strong starting basic of up to £45,000, a very generous bonus structure, company vehicle, pension contributions and excellent opportunities for career progression.You will be an excellent communicator, preferably with experience working with National House Builders and / or Tier 1 Contractors. Due to the nature of the role you will have a full driving licence and be prepared to travel as and when required.The person:

  • Proven track record in accounts management at strategic level.
  • Ability to grow, maintain and leverage your network of contacts
  • Plan approaches and pitches to develop proposals that speaks to the clients needs, concerns and objectives
  • Participate in pricing
  • Ability to handle objections by clarifying, emphasising and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • The ability to persuade or negotiate appropriately
  • Self-motivated and target driven
  • Disciplined and able to organise a busy schedule effectively
  • Focussed and persistent with a will to win
  • Team player able to work effectively with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of the building materials, construction products, builders merchants
