Job Description

Our Client is a privately owned company specialising in the design and manufacture of precision milled / turned parts, wire products, press - tools, metal pressings, tool-making, laser cutting and metal finishing.To support their growth, we are actively recruiting for a Fabrication Manager.The Fabrication Manager role will be a key addition to the management team and provides a great opportunity for growth and a secure and stable position over many years. You will be reporting directly to the company directors.The working hours for a Fabrication Manager are Monday - Friday from 7.30am to 4.30pm,As Fabrication Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all goods and services are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards
  • Overseeing the production process, coordinating production activities and operations, using companys ERP system
  • Understanding, compiling, and working to achieve fiscal targets set monthly and quarterly for each department
  • Leading and motivating a fabrication cell team and structuring it so that it can continue to grow.
  • Checking works orders, liaising with purchasing and deciding on the resources/materials that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate.
  • Updating customers with information on time in full in relation to current orders in production and striving to achieve 100% customer satisfaction
  • Providing hands-on support and technical experience to staff as required.
  • Assisting in introducing and using the companys planning and scheduling system
  • Identifying recruitment needs, candidate interviewing, disciplinaries, performance management
    • As Fabrication Manager you will have the following skills and abilities:
  • Prior Fabrication Supervisor/Manager experience
  • Experience of working on the shop floor making parts and not always in a managerial position
  • Prior experience of leading teams
  • Exceptional communicator and team player.
  • Forthright personality and approach, able to give directions, guide and motivate shop floor workers and keep fabrication processes in control.
  • Computer literate
  • Liaison and coordination with department managers to ensure that all client deadlines are met at all times.
  • Great work ethic and lead by example.
  • Experienced with implementing Health and Safety policies within fabrication and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and fully understand technical engineering drawings.
  • Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work to short creative deadlines
  • One to one problem solving with customers.
