Job Description

I am recruiting on behalf of a large Bridgend based company. My client is an established but growing company who is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the monthly managementaccounts within a 4-day deadline, as well as managing the PL and BS for 4 entities.Reporting into the UK Financial Controller, the main duties of the role will include -

  • Ensure that all inventory standards are maintained and updated.
  • Review the standard contribution margins by product line and prepare variance analyses for local management.
  • Challenge / provide feedback where necessary
  • Ensure that sales results are fully understood, and corrective actions are taken as necessary.
  • Partner with various Head of Department in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts
  • Analysis of overhead spend versus budget and ensure that any potential cost efficiencies are identified.
  • Preparation of reports for completion of annual budgets
  • Manage all relevant company stock takes within the UK and Ireland
  • Responsible for the management of the monthly management accounts preparation within a 4-day deadline
  • PL & BS for 4 entities
  • Maintain the fixed asset and leasing register including analysis of CAPEX proposals
  • Support interim and y/e group and statutory audit processes.
  • Support SOX audit
The successful candidate will be a proactive, team player who is able to readily participate in any improvement projects, ad hoc tasks and who will suggest improvements.Personal Profile -
  • Degree level or equivalent, in relevant business/finance related discipline. Qualified or part qualified/working towards a recognised Accounting Qualification (ACCA/CIMA). Or exceptional QBEs will be considered
  • Minimum - degree level or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar role, distribution / wholesale / manufacturing background would be advantageous.
  • Practical knowledge of standard costing and management reporting.
  • Knowledge of another modern European language would be beneficial.
  • Advanced Excel, together with excellent general IT literacy skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite. ERP/Database systems, Oracle, Hyperion
  • SOX, USGAAP and local reporting rules
