School Chef - Nr Ipswich, Suffolk Competitive salary 45 weeks paid: £20,360 (£12.05 per hour) Our client is a day and boarding preparatory school for boys and girls in the village of Brettenham, Suffolk. Founded in 1862, the school currently accommodates about 120 boys and 70 girls between the ages of 2 and 13 years. A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Chef to help deliver attractive, healthy, varied meals for students, staff and visitors. The successful candidate is likely to have: A relevant Catering qualification Cooking skills The ability to work effectively both in a team and also on own initiative Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to relate to young people, parents, colleagues. Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements, in particular, food hygiene Knowledge of menu planning and costing, nutrition and healthy eating Understanding of child protection issues 45 weeks paid: £20,360 (£12.05 per hour) Includes 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, 40 hours per week Term time (33.4 weeks) 11.00 - 19.30 (1 hour unpaid breaks) Monday to Friday Fridays off prior to boarding Saturdays during out weekends Boarding (out weekends - total 7 Saturdays) Saturday 7.00 -16.00 (1 hour unpaid breaks) Summer Lettings (4 weeks) 6 day week with one day off in the week 10.00 -18.30 (1 hour unpaid breaks) 19 cleaning days out of term time 9.45 - 14.00 (15 mins. unpaid break) For full details, please apply online or call
