Job Description

We are working with a Private State of the Art Hospital in Greater London to recruit an experienced Scrub Nurse to join their Day Surgery Theatre Department.This is a full time role working 40 hours on a rotational shift pattern, which includes some weekend work.Specialties covered: Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Chronic Pain Management Weight loss, Plastics and General Surgery.Scrub Nurse Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary theatre team providing a high standard of nursing care and safety for patients within the theatre unit
  • Involving procurement and being involved in the day-to-day running of Theatre.
  • Assessing, planning, delivering and implementing excellent perioperative patient care.
  • Prepare equipment and instruments according to operating list requirement, as well as being actively involved in contributing to Surgeons preference cards and organizing provision of sets and instruments.
  • Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use and any faults reported to the Theatre coordinator immediately.
  • Preparing, checking and sending used sets and instruments back to Sterile Services for cleaning and processing, and also to receive and scan in clean sets and instruments returning to the clinic.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
  • Registered nurse or ODP
  • NMC PIN or HCPC Registration
  • Knowledge and experience in a range of surgical specialties, including General, Pain Management, Podiatry and Ophthalmic,
  • Experience of working in a similar role.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Flexible approach to work and the willingness to work in other areas within the Operating Department, such as Recovery.
