Job Description

We are working with a State of The Art Private Hospital In Greater London to recruit an Endoscopy Nurse who is flexible, approachable and can work independently and as part of a team to provide a high standard of patient care.This is a permanent full time position working 40 hours per week.Endoscopy Nurse Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision
  • Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care
  • Undertake nursing procedures and support patient undergoing endoscopic procedures
  • Manage patients in a safe and timely manner, through the Endoscopy pathway, identifying patient needs and taking action as required to manage or escalate to the coordinator or Endoscopy manager
  • Carry out Endoscopy unit /Directorate/Divisional/Trust audits as required
  • Participate on the Endoscopy nurse on-call rota and help to improve the patient outcome
  • Assist and advise junior staff in the delivery of patient care
Qualifications / Experience Required:
  • Registered Nurse / NMC PIN
  • Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy
  • Endoscopy Nurse Experience (preferable but not essential)
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to develop teaching skills
  • Ability to solve problems and use initiative
  • Ability to develop own clinical skills
  • Competency in medication administration including IV drug administration or willingness to undergo training
  • Basic IT skills
  • Experience of caring for sick patients in a variety of settings - this could be as a student
  • Awareness of current developments in nursing
  • Knowledge of care planning, preceptorship, reflection and clinical supervision.
