Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant required for a small village primary school in near BarnstapleTimeplan Education are recruiting for a passionate, motivated and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to start in November 2023 within a small primary school in EX32 close to Barnstaple and South Molton.Experience of working with children that have special education needs is essential for this role as you will required to work within a busy KS1 class throughout the day supporting children, either in small groups or one to one. Some of the children haveAutism and ADHD and other have SEMH. Your role will be to support their learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.This role of SEN Teaching Assistant is full-time, Monday to Friday - 8:30am 3:30pm on a term time basis start on 30th October 2023. This role could become permanent.The daily pay rate is between £80 and £85 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) depending on experience.The role of SEN Teaching Assistant is very rewarding and quite challenging. You will be fully supported by a highly skilled, friendly staff team however you will be expected to work on your own initiative at times to support the pupils in the best way possible.What you can expect from this position:

  • Provide support to SEN pupils across KS1.
  • Work with small groups of children to carry out interventions.
  • Use your experience and passion to engage with pupils.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
  • Supervising students during non-classroom time.
  • Working closely with the staff team to identify any issues and develop appropriate solutions.
