Job Description

We are a FTSE 250 Company employing over 3,000 staff throughout the UK and Ireland.Provident delivers non-standard lending through our businesses - Vanquis Bank, Provident Home Credit, Satsuma Loans, Moneybarn and Cheque Exchange.About the role:The Planning & Resourcing Manager within Group Transformation will be responsible for establishing planning standards within Group PMO which supports multi-divisional Change Teams. This Role will require a senior, experienced individual who will use their experience, knowledge and flair to add value to a newly formed Group PMO.Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish clear planning principles and standards and development of standard Project Plan templates.
  • Provision of guidance & education to Change Teams & associated leaders to establish a single approach for all elements of planning.
  • Support the development and ownership of plans across all delivery levels in order to provide a tiered / roll up view of key milestones etc.
  • Challenge & test any planning assumptions to ensure plans are both realistic and achievable.
  • Assure project, programmes & Portfolio plans to ensure that any relevant risks, issues and dependencies are appropriate.
  • Creation of a robust reporting capability to provide a visual representation of plans (Milestone view, Critical path etc).
  • Establish and operate mechanism to track delivery against plans.
  • Create reporting functionality for planning & resourcing views.
  • Provide estimating support with an initial emphasis on Discovery phase.
  • Provide a capacity planning and resource tracking capability and reporting.
  • Pre-empt and forecast future resource needs.
  • Manage time recording processes, systems and tools.
  • Ensure time allocation data is up to date and accurate ahead of importation into financial systems.
  • Provision of evidence-based reporting, including KPIs, resource heatmaps, utilisation etc.
  • The skills and experience you will have:
  • Significant experience in a similar PMO role.
  • Experience of planning across multiple teams in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in a similar quality assurance role
  • Strong background of building, managing and influencing diverse relationships across a business.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and consistent manner across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of resource management, planning and forecasting.
  • Able to work under own initiative, with minimal supervision and a rigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, management, coaching & communication skills.
  • A strong academic record preferably to degree level, or equivalent work experience.
  • Highly numerate with developed quantitative capabilities.
  • Project Management qualification (one or more of Prince2, PMI, Agile Project Management)
  • Desirable skills and experience, but not essential:
  • Detailed knowledge and experience within the Financial Services sector.
  • Understand the requirements of an FCA regulated business.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Project
