Job Description

Were looking for a Payroll Analyst to join us in our Bradford office. This is hybrid working - 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.This role joins Liberty Shared Services (LSS) and is responsible for the accurate payroll administration and answering of payroll queries for companies including Liberty Global US. What will you be doing

  • Resolve complex pay queries enquiries, issues and complaints, escalating as appropriate.
  • Complete payroll transactional processing.
  • Support the management of processing of all payroll credit transfer and emergency CHAPS payments.
  • Ensure that statutory deductions are correctly made and accounted for and that all statutory returns, including those for taxable benefits, relating to the employees, are produced and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that non-statutory deductions made on behalf of the employees are accounted for and returns, including payment, are made to the appropriate organisations.
  • Ensure that advice and service given to managers, employees and external organisations are of a high quality and delivered in a customer focused way.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant payroll related legislation and statuary obligations.
  • Stay on top of company and statutory changes, and working with Information Technology & the ES Systems & Portfolio Development team, ensure vital system changes are implemented at the required time.
  • Support projects to improve payroll system, processes and procedures enabling the delivery of high standards within payroll services and customer service.
We tend to look for people with:
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll processes, particularly those relating to the BACS process and company pension schemes.
  • Detailed and practical knowledge of statutory legislation pertinent to Income Tax (PAYE), National Insurance, SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP and Salary sacrifice, Benefits in Kind and Attachment of Earning Orders.
  • A sound understanding of external Payroll/Shared Services developments.
  • A sound understanding of managing payroll in a diverse organisation.
  • Experience of providing detailed and timely pay and management information advice.
  • Experience of managing complex, high volume pay processes in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Knowledge of the company pension schemes.
  • Understanding of interfaces between payroll and finance and pensions.
  • In depth knowledge of payroll processing including month end and year end activities.
  • Good working knowledge of process methodologies.
  • Able to fully utilise standard Microsoft Office products and the application of Oracle and workflow/case management, with MS Excel to intermediate level.
  • A high degree of interpersonal skills is essential, in an environment where conflicting priorities can result in delays and failures, to ensure that no deadlines are ever missed.
  • Happy to flex hours to fit with US payroll processing.
