Job Description

The RoleWe are continually evolving and expanding our teams within Mobile Maintenance Services, and are seeking an experienced HGV/Trailer Mechanic/Technician to join our mobile team covering the Bradford area.Our Mobile Trailer Technicians are responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of our fleet vehicles. Ensuring the vehicles remain operational and comply with any legislations. As you aremobile you will be completing these tasks on the customers premises, so good communication skills are required.Key Responsibilities Operating from your home address in a Mobile Service Vehicle

  • Repair trailers and vehicles as per the manufacturers recommendations and procedures.
  • Repair trailers and vehicles as per the DVSA recommended procedures in line with the HGV Testers Manual
  • Routinely service trailers and vehicles as per the manufacturers and the DVSA recommendations and procedures and in line with the Company standard times.
  • Actively take part in the callout process when and where required.
  • Have regular contact and interact with any relevant department in the business to ensure a smooth flow of information.
  • Correctly diagnose and advise on trailer and vehicle systems faults.
  • Maintain skill levels and full awareness of all technology used HGV and trailer repair and servicing.
  • Ensure that the full scope of repair is both carried out and recorded for all trailers and vehicles worked on by yourself.
  • Advise on parts required for all vehicles/trailers worked on by yourself.
  • Report to the control room and the customer any faults that you may find on a vehicle/trailer that may affect its function or safe use.
  • Liaise with customers, to discuss repairs carried out, repairs required, or any other relevant matter concerning their vehicle/trailer.
About YouIn order to be a success as a MobileTrailer Technician, you will need to have the knowledge and experience of servicing and maintaining HGV Trailers.Youll be working from one of our well-equipped mobile vans attending jobs on customer sites within a designated patch, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, maintaining the fleet and identifying faults using advanced diagnostic equipment. We workwith blue-chip clients and household names and its a fast-paced environment with demanding customers.You will have:
  • Proven track record in Heavy Vehicle maintenance
  • City and Guilds Motor VehicleNVQ/C&G Level 2/3
  • Full driving licence
  • Desirable IRTEC or similar qualification
  • IT literate as all our work is logged via tablets
  • Ability to work on your own
  • Strong time management skills
You will work Monday - Friday and be available for call outs within your area.Other duties will include:
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles and related ancillary equipment, replacing parts as and when necessary in line with Company and legislative requirements
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard
  • Providing on the job training for other Technicians/Trainees as required
  • Continually identify possible warranty claims and escalate these to the appropriate person
