Job Description

Job Title: Locum Nuclear Medicine TechnologistCompany: Vivid HealthcareLocation: YorkshireJob Type: Locum (Temporary)We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Locum Nuclear Medicine Technologist for our London-based client.This is a temporary position, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality nuclear medicine services.Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including diagnostic imaging, therapeutic treatments, and radiopharmaceutical administration, under the guidance of a physician or radiologist.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process and answer any questions or concerns.
  • Operate sophisticated imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, and other specialized equipment used in nuclear medicine.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and ensure proper dosage and administration techniques.
  • Acquire, process, and analyze imaging data using computer software to generate accurate diagnostic reports.
  • Follow strict radiation safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, radiologists, and other technologists, to ensure accurate interpretation and communication of imaging results.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures, including documentation of radiopharmaceuticals used, doses administered, and other relevant information.
  • Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, quality assurance programs, and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
  • Certification from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Current licensure or registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Proven experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, preferably in a locum or temporary capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, equipment, and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Proficient in acquiring, processing, and analyzing imaging data using relevant software.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and produce high-quality diagnostic reports.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
