This company are a leading distributor of passenger and commercial vehicle parts, who are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and highly motivated individual to join the UK compliance team to focus on the groups compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOx).Client DetailsThis company are a leading distributor of passenger and commercial vehicle parts, who are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and highly motivated individual to join the UK compliance team to focus on the groups compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOx).As a part of a US listed business, the UK Group has a strict structure of controls and reporting, and the applicants need to be used to producing work of a high standard to tight deadlines.The on-going integration of acquired entities requires a flexible and can do approach to the challenges that this presents and with this brings a great opportunity to improve processes.The UK compliance team are part of the wider European compliance team, and the role will include interaction with the European compliance team.Description

• Promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance, proactively engaging with the business to drive best practise

• Maintenance and updating of the groups risk control matrix
• Maintaining and monitoring the central storage of evidence of SOx controls and their completeness
• Supporting local Financial Controllers in the quality of their work and specifically the supporting evidence in respect of the completion of controls
• Evaluating and testing the completeness of controls on a sample basis
• Support of UK finance staff to understand compliance levels required
• Monitoring the controls confirmation process on the Governance Risk Compliance tool
• Co-ordinating with third party internal audit provider to ensure bi-annual SOx controls testing is conducted effectively as per the agreed timetable
• Working with control owners to minimise control deficiencies and ensuring any control weaknesses are understood and remediated in a timely manner
• Driving continuous process improvement by ensuring controls are robust and relevant to business needs
• Dialogue and interaction with the External Auditors to ensure successful completion of SOx audit
• Review, maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures

Profile

• Enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn and continue their personal development and encourage positive change across the business
• Formal accountancy training and qualification preferred, but not essential
• Experience of working in a SOx compliant environment

• Very high attention to detail and adherence to processes
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise own work to tight deadlines
• Team player, keen to become a part of a growing and dynamic senior finance department
• Ability to build good working relationships with finance & operational teams, third party internal audit provider and external auditors
• Ability to compile, analyse and review data to a high level of accuracy
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbally
• A full UK drivers licence
