Job Description

Role: Health and Safety Advisor (Part-Time)Location: BradfordSalary: £28,000 - £30,000 (Negotiable) - Pro rataHours: 24 hours (3 days per week)Duration: PermanentBenefits: 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays (pro rata), Free Parking, Pension scheme, flexible start and finish times, casual dress, company eventsAre you a NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Advisor looking for a new opportunity Are you keen to work for a small but busy construction company where your responsibilities are variedIf so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join a successful company in Bradford on a part time basis.This is a full-time permanent role to start ASAP and our client is looking for friendly and dedicated individuals to come and support their family business. The successful candidate will be required to travel to another based so a car driver is a must.Duties:

  • Provide H&S and environmental support while ensuring the company complies to legislative obligations
  • Maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures adhering to government legislation and understanding the companys policies and procedures, advising on their impact
  • Provide support to the projects team regards the completion of RAMS and PPQs.
  • Update and review the H&S and environmental management system including the drafting of procedures and guidance documents
  • Oversee the companies training Programme, delivering toolbox task, liaising with third party providers, logging and completing the necessary paperwork for CITB claims
  • Provide advice and training to the operational workforce in Health and Safety regulations when appropriate
  • Ensure that occupational health surveillance and well-being programs are followed
  • Ensure that all accidents or near miss incidents are properly recorded, investigated and appropriate action is taken including reporting and improvement measures
  • Undertake site, office, and workshop audits, ensure that responsibilities are clear and answer any questions raised
  • Implement / update safety plans
  • Ensure that all Scheduled inspections are maintained for our sites and equipment
  • Promote and encourage Health & Safety and environmental awareness among the employees of the business
  • Regular travel to different sites is expected as well as frequent visits to second base
Skills required:
  • Construction related background would be ideal
  • A strong communicator to all levels within the business with high attention to detail
  • NEBOSH Construction preferred however General considered
  • Self-efficient who can manage/prioritise workload / a self-starter
  • UK Drivers license
  • Able to work on own initiative as the role is a standalone H&S role
  • This role would suit applicants based in Bradford, Halifax, and surrounding areas.
