Job Description

We are a FTSE 250 Company employing over 3,000 staff throughout the UK and Ireland.Provident delivers non-standard lending through our businesses - Vanquis Bank, Provident Home Credit, Satsuma Loans, Moneybarn and Cheque Exchange.About the role:We have a fantastic unique opportunity with our Group Transformation team for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for all financial functions within the Group PMO which supports our multi-divisional Change Teams. This Role will require a senior, experienced individual that will use their experience, knowledge and flair to add value to a newly formed Group PMO.Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish & manage appropriate financial standards & controls across Group Transformation
  • Develop & consolidate the annual Change Budget and manage the re-forecasting processes.
  • Ongoing review of spend vs actuals, and reporting of variances
  • Provide financial guidance and education to Change Teams as well as to colleagues fulfilling key Project roles (e.g. Sponsor)
  • Provide financial support to Change Directors leading large, complex change Programmes
  • Review Business cases & work directly with Finance teams to ensure benefits are adequately defined, have been based on sound assumptions and are expected to be realised
  • Monitor and manage Change expenditure, examining any areas where budgets and expenditure exceed agreed tolerance.
  • Ensure that any financial risks, issues and dependencies are properly documented, reported and actively managed, proposing appropriate actions and accompanied by effective communication throughout the process.
  • Prepare & present regular financial Reporting up to and including Board level
  • Cost Centre management & reporting
  • Be an ambassador for Group Transformation and contribute to the further maturing of the function.
  • The skills and experience you will have:
  • Significant experience in a similar PMO / Finance role.
  • Strong background of building, managing and influencing diverse relationships across a business.
  • Being able to influence and challenge effectively at a senior level
  • Ability to think and influence both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Experience operating in a challenging organisational environment with a requirement to balance different priorities and demands
  • Able to work under own initiative, with minimal supervision and a rigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, management & communication skills.
  • A strong academic record preferably to degree level, or equivalent work experience
  • Highly numerate with developed quantitative capabilities.
  • Demonstrable financial modelling and evaluation skills are critical. In particular, a good understanding of accounting and/or leveraged finance / project finance modelling.
  • Project Management qualification (one or more of Prince2, PMI, Agile Project Management)
  • Highly proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications as well as Microsoft Project
  • Experience working with SharePoint / Microsoft Teams
  • Desirable skills and experience, but not essential:
  • Understand the requirements of an FCA regulated business
  • Detailed knowledge and experience within the Financial Services sector
