Job Description

Embedded Software Engineer£46,000 - £54,000 + Benefits PackageBradford (On-Site 5 days a week)Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer/Firmware Engineer with a strong background in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) If so, this is an exceptional opportunity to join a technology-driven company with a team boasting over two decades of experience.Youll play a pivotal role in driving innovation and working within a specialized niche of the automotive sector, for a leading UK industry player experiencing rapid growth thanks to their dedicated customer base.As a valued member of their highly skilled team, your primary responsibility will involve identifying software enhancements within embedded environments for our production-released products. Youll craft clean, well-structured, and dependable code for variousprocessors and microcontrollers, all while addressing hardware issues and implementing innovative solutions.The ideal candidate should possess previous experience in a similar role, with a solid grasp of Embedded C and RTOS. Additionally, you should be comfortable contributing to all aspects of code design and exhibit a practical approach to implementation, includingthe development of new embedded architectures to support our expanding product development initiatives.This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work with a globally recognized automotive company in a collaborative and supportive work environment. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in the companys substantial growth and your own professional development.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software/firmware solutions for new product ranges, as well as maintain existing products as required.
  • Generate clear, well-documented, structured, and reliable code for various processors and microcontrollers, requiring proficiency in C.
  • Identify, implement, and test embedded software for products.
  • Contribute to defining software architecture and design for efficiency and reusability.
Requirements:
  • Essential experience with RTOS and a comprehensive understanding of complex real-time systems constraints and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Version Control Systems, especially Subversion.
  • Knowledge of RTOS, preferably Freescale MQX, VCS (SVN/CVS), Serial Communications (preferably CAN Bus).
  • Familiarity with mathematical modeling software such as Matlab or Simulink.
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry or similar
