The Provident Financial Group is made up of Provident Home Credit, Satsuma Loans, Vanquis Bank, Cheque Exchange and Moneybarn.About the RoleThe Group Treasury team are currently undergoing a period of transformation and increasing their remit across the group. This is a unique opportunity to join us and be part of that journey. This role will offer fantastic career progression opportunities as well as allow you to develop banking treasury knowledge.The Balance Sheet Manager will assist the Group Treasurer and Senior Manager - Balance Sheet Management to develop and manage the balance sheet strategy within the framework of relevant policy documents. The role will get involved in critical projects to ensure the team delivers on its targets whilst mitigating unnecessary funding costs all within the funding risk appetite of the Group. In order to assist in delivering the balance sheet strategy we expect the role holder to be able to provide technical support, analysis and financial modelling of funding and capital.This role will predominantly be based working from home with some time spent in the Bradford office in the future.Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the development of Group Treasurys funding model capability to give us the ability to thoroughly model the newer shorter turnaround funding mix
  • Own the funding model and production of analysis that guides decision making for the Senior Manager - Balance Sheet Management and Group Treasurer
  • Ownership and preparation of all ICAAP related analysis including compiling the Group internal assessment, modelling of stress test inputs received from divisions and presentation of results in an understandable form to senior management.
  • Compilation of monthly internal assessment monitoring including developing methodology for internal assessment forecasting
  • Support the team in scenario modelling of the impact of capital projects and initiatives on regulatory capital position & forecast
  • Contribute to regular balance sheet management reporting to Group Treasury Committee, Group Risk Committee, Group Exco and Group Board as required to assist in any decision making processes
  • Produce analyses for inclusion in the formal funding plan document
  • Work closely within treasury to ensure there is a clear link between long-term funding plans and the short term cashflow prepared for cash management processes

  • Effectively communicate with the Senior Manager - Balance Sheet Management and Group Treasurer to provide insight that guides decision making
  • Responsible for ensuring colleagues have a clear understanding of the analysis produced for funding proposals
  • Engage with Group Finance to deliver business objectives
  • Working with the treasury analysts to develop their skill set
  • Delivering our Numbers
  • Play a key role in delivering potential profit improvements through delivery of our balance sheet strategy
  • Enable Group Treasury to be proactive on longer term funding planning
  • Involved in the delivery of timely and accurate treasury analysis and information.
  • Ensure work is delivered in line with agreed timetables
  • About YouExperience and Capability
  • Qualified accountant, preferably ACA, with relevant post qualified experience in industry or practice.
  • Demonstrable exposure to treasury activities in a regulated firm (ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP) would be highly advantageous.
  • Understand accounting standards and principles under IFRS and their impact on capital
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels to explain complex information.
  • Be able to provide different presentations of data to allow analysis and challenge of figures with senior management.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to challenge constructively.
  • Demonstrates rigorous attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness, including knowledge of financial services sector.
  • Advanced PC literacy in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
